The XRS3 is a 270 kV, battery-powered pulsed X-ray generator widely used in security and light industrial applications. Golden Engineering introduced the XRS3 in 2001 to meet the demand for applications requiring greater penetration than the XR150 or XR200.
When used with a variety of digital imaging systems, the XRS3 can penetrate up to 1 inch of steel. It is our most versatile product because it delivers outstanding penetration in a compact package. Its compact design integrates the battery pack, rugged glass tube, high-voltage head, and electronic controls into a unit weighing less than 13 lb. Because the XRS3 uses the same commercially available battery packs as DeWalt cordless tools, operators can easily purchase spare battery packs at any time. The XRS3 shares the same electronics and battery as the XR200, further enhancing commonality between the two products. It has proven its ability to withstand extreme environments, including the Arctic and the desert.
